JourneyWoman September Book Club: Travel by Book

Published 8 months ago • 3 min read

Dear JourneyWoman,

This month, all eyes are on Morocco with its devastating earthquake. Morocco is also the setting for Maria Dueñas' "The Seamstress" (also known as "The Time In Between"), a fascinating story that takes place during the Spanish Civil War. When you sign up for this month's book club, we'll donate all proceeds to earthquake relief and Education for All, an organization we have supported in the past, thanks to a recommendation from Alice Morrison, author of "From Morocco to Timbuktu", our May 2021 Book of the Month.

We're thrilled to share our next six books with you, taking us from October into April 2024. Thank you to everyone who voted! We really appreciate your active participation. Watch our video to learn more and sign up for the October 18 book club right away! We also want to feature podcasts in this newsletter so if you have recommendations, please send us a tip!

Everyone is welcome at our monthly book club discussions, whether you've read the book or not. These are held on the third Wednesday of each month at 8 pm ET. To learn more please visit our Book Club Page here. For those who cannot make it, subscribe to our YouTube channel to see recordings, which are generally up within a week of the event. Remember, when you buy a book using the links on our site, it helps support our book club, so thank you!

Happy travels!
